My name is Ray Lewis. My coauthor, best friend, and loving wife is Parvin Lewis.
I’m a mystic, a scientist and a futurist. I have been for as long as I can remember. I’m also a retired chiropractor and naturopath, and previously worked for large companies and small in various capacities in management and consulting as an economist, computer programmer, geologist, and entrepreneur. I’m a world traveler and a big dreamer, an independent thinker, and a hopeless romantic. I am a wanderer, lost in the forest of knowledge, a lover, star-crossed and bewildered.
I am a little boy at heart, breathless with wonder in a world full of beauty, magic, and monsters. I never lost that wonderment and I storm against the rising tide of injustice, greed, stupidity, and godlessness that has swallowed the world and corrupted both high and low alike.
My coauthor, best friend, and loving wife for all these many years, is Parvin Lewis. She is the kindest and wisest person I’ve ever meet, mother of our two lovely daughters, and she’s the best cook and gardener in the universe (no kidding). She’s the Director of Health Promotion at Clemson University and has a long history and burning passion to help people as a health educator and nurse.
Why we decided to write
Neither one of us is trained or educated in the venerable art of writing. The answer is simple. As readers, Parvin and I have always wanted to jump out of our skin and dive into our books and experience firsthand all the adventures of the story, all the twists and turns, all the ups and downs. We wanted to become the protagonist and fight the evil villain. We wanted to solve the mind-boggling mystery and find the hidden treasure. We wanted to save the day. I bet you have felt that way to.
Harry Potter, Frodo Baggins, and Neo capture the imagination and transport us to other worlds full of magic and mystery. Characters like that touch something deep within us, a sense of wonder, of freedom transcending personal limitations. During such moments we can feel the magic in the air and sense that there is more to the world, more to life, than we have been told.
That’s what we want you to feel when you read our stories. But it’s more than that. We want you to go beyond the read and experience the real magic, the magic of the spirit, and the wonder of the world in your own life. Though outer circumstances may condemn many of us to a life of suffering the beauty of the magical worlds is all around us, and in us.
Do you wish your life could be as exciting as Harry Potter’s, as adventurous as Frodo Baggin’s, and as inspiring as Neo’s? Are you ready to be reborn free of Neo’s matrix? Are you ready to find your Hogworts, your Dream School?
The truth is that life can be far more exciting and mysterious than the best fantasy or science fiction. That reality is all around us, and in us. We have been conditioned to ignore it and taught to run from it. You can learn the true magic, however, discover your inner powers, and even help save the world. Are you ready?
If you are ready to embark upon the quest of a lifetime, if you are willing to find the keys to life and discover the secrets of the universe, join us and read on. If not, go back to the comfort of your “matrix,” but never give into the monsters. They will not stop until they capture your heart and control your mind unless you find the means to overcome their power and influence. Never let the child within you die or you will become one of those monsters.
We can help you cultivate that inner child and point to the way to the living school of magic where students never sleep and the amazing lessons never end. Does a place like that really exist? How do you get there? If you know how it’s easy but if you don’t you can spend your whole life tying.
Don’t believe us? Good, find out for yourself. The truth is both is all around you and within you though you may not see it. I don’t blame you for being skeptical. I encourage you to ask questions, to challenge authority, to go beyond tradition and create something new and better than what your elders have bequeathed you.
The world is drenched in shadow, pulled apart and polarized by the forces of light and darkness. It would be easy to turn off and turn away, to distrust everyone and everything. But that’s a boring, dull world, a twilight where nothing matters because you feel nothing. That may be better than the great sorrows and untold suffering you see everywhere, but it doesn’t have to be like that. You don’t have to be like that.
If you feel the way I do read on. Our work is free. It is safe and simple, but it cannot be learned in school, at least not a regular school. In fact, it’s not something you can learn from a book, though that is a good place to start if you have the right book. It won’t take long for you to discover the truth for yourself. I challenge you to judge for yourself.
We write about the questions in life. We write about bubbles and dreams. We write about magic, the true magic, and how to learn it and use it safely and properly. Magic is real. Everyone knows it deep down inside. It’s not the magic of Harry Potter, though it is real nevertheless. Everyone feels it under the right conditions. And everyone has a bubble, even if you don’t know it, yet. We see the world through bubbles of our own making. They are colored, tinted by our education and the choices we have made in life. What color is your bubble? Everyone dreams and some of them are “real.” What are yours about?
We also write about shadows and monsters, as well as seekers of truth, and martyrs who die for it. We write about discovering new worlds and making this one better. We write fiction and creative nonfiction. Even our fiction is based on true life events and divinely inspired wisdom.
I write a big, bad blog, the Bubblehead Blog in the voice of my fictional characters. No one and nothing in this world are safe from my flaming pen. People innately respond to truth but often it is wrapped in myriad veils and cloaked in layers of lies. Is there any wonder people are confused and all our institutions are failing? I cut through all the maya (illusion) exposing the underlying truths for all to see.
I’m the Master Bubblehead of the Bubblehead Game, a unique online game combining our stories, current events, all sorts of mysteries, and monsters. The game, currently under development, will be age and grade appropriate and tied to national education standard as we expand it.
At heart, we were adventurers when we were young. Now, in the growing twilight of our years we have become storytellers. We write stories to share our adventures in word and picture. I also make short films to share our stories in moving images and sound. In addition, I love to work with other people so I enjoy working with artists, musicians, programmers and a host of others to make your experience with us all the more entertaining and educational. Everything is open-source and non-profit so you are invited to join us and become a Bubblehead.
We write for children because we never lost our sense of wonderment and curiosity. We write about people and places, some of this world, some of other worlds with an emphasis on virtues and character development.
The future belongs to the children and dreams are the fuel that will get them there safely, successfully.
We write for the youth (kids ages 8 to 12) of the world. For them we write fantasy adventures of the highest noblest sort. Think you dream big; wait until you read about Peter Fisher's dreams ... and his nightmares. They're as equally grand, but terrifying beyond anything science or religion as ever conjured.
Youth is a time of awakening. It's a time when you become conscious of yourself and the world around you. Unfortunately, few are told that there are inner worlds as well, and they can lead to mind-boggling adventures and the realization that the world truly is full of magic and mystery.
Come with Peter and his friends on a quest to find this hidden world. It's hiding in place sight but you have to know how to get there. Once there, you will learn the keys to life and the secrets of the universe, or you will die trying!
We write for teens (young adults, 12+). We write fantasy adventures. Most teens have a great sense of adventure and want to find answers to the pressing questions they face. They ask tough questions and demand honest answers that make sense. That’s what my quest was all about when I was a teen, my Bubble Quest, and by sharing it, we hope to make the journey that much easier, safer, and more enjoyable for today’s teens and young adults.
Teens straddle two worlds, childhood and adulthood, and the color of their bubble and the nature of their dreams will determine what kind of people they become.
And we write for adults because we know that love, compassion, and helping one another are the only solutions to our problems, large and small. It’s only after suffering through the trials of adolescence and coping with the necessities of adulthood that they can truly appreciate the need to find meaning in life beyond what society, tradition, and peers deem important.
All this may seem too much to be true, too complicated to be real, but see for yourself. The truth has many aspects but you know it when you see it. Are your eyes open? Are you ready to discover the keys to life and the secrets of the universe? Join us and fly!
