False religion is easy to detect. Its outer appearance may be impressive but its inner core has become corrupt. Outwardly it is successful but inwardly it is does not practice what it preaches. Its leaders loudly proclaim the divinity of their Cause, the sanctity of their position, and the truth of their claims, but inwardly they have been seduced by materialism, pride, and vice.
False religion is worse than no religion at all. A for-profit corporation is organized to make money for its owners and investors. It makes something or provides a service (or at least it should). A false religion, however, may be pretty on the outside and call people to live according to the teaching authored or interrupted by their leaders. Those organizations exist to benefit their leaders and increase their power and influence.
